Shera Sandwell, Chris Winkler, Chloe, and The Escondido Grapevine, in that order.

The Escondido Grapevine has provided factual, informative and interesting information and news since 2015. It has been our pleasure and civic duty to do this, especially considering the status of North County as a news desert given the demise of The North County Times and low coverage priority of regional corporate, for-profit media.

We have provided this service free of charge and never asked for financial support from the community.

We exist to carry your voice. We do that for the good of the community. We produce excellent professional community journalism, commentary and analysis on issues, people and organizations that often go ignored in the mainstream press.

We will never charge you to access our reporting. And while we truly appreciate the generous support of many local corporate sponsors and members, we need your support to continue and to grow.

If you feel that The Escondido Grapevine has uplifted, inspired or encouraged the many voices of our community, please consider making a contribution.

Donor Transparency Policy

We are committed to transparency in every aspect of funding our organization.

Accepting financial support does not mean we endorse donors or their products, services or opinions.

We accept gifts, grants and sponsorships from individuals, organizations and foundations to help with our general operations, coverage of specific topics, and special projects. Our news judgments are made independently – not based on or influenced by donors. We do not give supporters the rights to assign, review or edit content.

We will make public all donors who give $1000 or more per year (see below). As a nonprofit, we will avoid accepting donations from anonymous sources, and we will not accept donations from government entities, political parties, elected officials or candidates actively seeking public office. We will not accept donations from sources who, deemed by our board of directors, present a conflict of interest with our work or compromise our independence.

It’s easy and it’s important. Simply hit “donate” below and you will be directed to the PayPal process through which you can bring independent, community-affirming journalism to Escondido, San Marcos, Valley Center and North County San Diego.
