Local eateries are signing up by the baker’s dozen baker’s dozen for Escondido’s 3rd Annual Dine-Out Escondido! restaurant week Jan. 24 to Jan 30. It’s all happening in conjunction with Visit California’s annual “California Restaurant Month.”
The list should grow to around 25 by the time the event takes over culinary town. New restaurants joining includeThe Wooden Spoon, Burger Bench, Hacienda de Vega, Cute Cakes, Sunny Side Kitchen, A Delight of France, Chili’s and Black Angus Steakhouse, according to Visit Escondido, the local tourism group that is sponsoring the local food fest feast week.
This year, “Dine Out Escondido!” will offer a change of strategy from last year. “Following a hugely successful first year, we’re excited to give our restaurant partners a more focused program by building momentum for a 7-day event,” said Katherine Zimmer, Tourism and Marketing Administrator for the City of Escondido. Zimmer added that these dates align well with San Diego Restaurant Week, which occurs the week prior to the Escondido program.
Savor the diverse culinary flavors of Escondido by taking advantage of this fantastic opportunity to visit your favorite restaurants and create new experiences,” according to Zimmer and company.
“Enjoy a showcase of artisanal foods and the creativity of our fantastic chefs and restaurateurs. Whether you’re looking for craft brew foodie pairings, local farm-to-table delights, chef-owned culinary experiences, international flavors, high tea or home cooking, Escondido’s fantastic restaurants have something for everyone.”
Visit Escondido is confident last year’s high promotional reach during “Dine Out Escondido!” — over 750,000 people through social media alone — sets the table for a great foodie week.
Escondido is the only city in San Diego’s North County to be involved in this important economic program. Forty cities participated statewide in 2014.
Everyone can savor the diverse culinary flavors of Escondido during “Dine Out Escondido!” by taking advantage of this opportunity to visit their favorite restaurants, discover new ones, and truly enjoy the creativity of Escondido’s fantastic chefs and restaurateurs, Zimmer said.
