Bye-bye Brazil? Not if you;re planning to attend the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum (SDCDM) big gala from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 30. It’s all about celebrating the culture and cuisine of Brazil.
Gala goers are invited to explore the Museum’s new exhibits, mingle in the Children’s Discovery Garden, taste the variety of Brazilian food and drink offerings, and enjoy live entertainment with Brazilian music and dance performances.
Attendees also will enjoy dancing, photo booth, silent auction, opportunity drawing, and a “raise the paddle” to support the Museum’s educational programming and initiatives to provide access to hands-on learning for children and families.
Thanks to generous community support at last year’s spring benefit event, San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum was able to expand their interactive exhibits and scholarship programs to continue their commitment to make the Museum accessible to all members of the community.
In November 2015, SDCDM celebrated its fourth year in a new larger indoor-outdoor facility that has allowed them to better serve school groups and further their mission by providing 115,000 children and families unique hands-on educational experiences focusing on science, art, and world cultures.
“With the Museum in its fifth year, and all of the newly completed, custom, hands-on exhibits, we are thrilled to be able to welcome the community to our Museum for a fabulous Brazilian celebration,” SDCDM executive director Javier Guerrero said. “This will be a really fun evening raising money that is critical to support the educational programs at the Museum and our continued growth.”
