No April’s Fools joke here, bluegrass is in the house on Friday, April 1 at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Fans of the folksy country genre have the opportunity to see some of the leading ladies in the bluegrass world providing a singer-songwriter experience.
Patty Griffin, Sara Watkins and Anaïs Mitchell performs a rare singers-in-the-round type show with each artist sharing their own songs as well as accompanying one another for the entire evening.
Griffin has won numerous Grammy Awards for traditional gospel and contemporary folk/Americana during two decades of performing. Watkins is a Nickel Creek veteran with several highly acclaimed studio albums and collaborations with the likes of John Mayer and The Decemberists. Mitchell is a leader ion the resurgent American folk music movement.
