Time for good food and good fellowship to go to a good cause. The Escondido Rotary Club & Foundation holds its annual Coeur de Cuisine at California Center for the Arts, Escondido on Feb. 28.

Translated from the language of food, Francais, that means the heart of food. The gala food festival with a heart draws on the finest area restaurants and markets to raise funds for Rotary Club scholarships and causes.

Here is more about the what, who, when, where, why, and more about the upcoming event.

WHAT: The 13th Annual Coeur de Cuisine will be an evening “Gourmet Gala'” featuring cuisine and wine pairings from leading restaurants and wineries throughout North San Diego and the San Diego region. The event benefits Escondido Rotary Foundation charities.

WHO: Up to 40 renowned local chefs preparing and presenting their signature dishes along with San Diego Wineries and Selected Purveyors of Spirits and Beer. Up to 500 guests who are Rotarians, business, professional and governmental leaders and friends of our community in fellowship and support of philanthropic objectives and efforts.

WHEN: Sunday, February 28th (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) Special Pre-Event Sponsor Reception from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

WHERE: California Center for the Arts, Escondido, Conference Center.

WHY: Proceeds from the evening will benefit charities supported by the Escondido Rotary Foundation a California 501(c)(3) Non-Profit TIN 33-0063533. The Foundation does not serve as a “pass through” for funds nor provide operational fund support for charities or its own operations. Philanthropic support is distributed based on selections from an application and grant process. Increased funding is needed to support projects in 2016 similar to those in the past:

Net proceeds of nearly $100,000 will help fund scholarships and local philanthropic programs.

DETAILS: This upscale black tie (suggested) social event of the mid-winter season in North San Diego County is limited to 500 guests. All Patrons will enjoy free Valet parking and many exciting cuisines, wine tasting’s, music and silent auctions. Sponsors and reserved seating guests will enjoy a pre-event reception. Unreserved seating is $125. Sponsorship reserved seating and reception is $300. Table and sponsorship opportunities are available as well.
